The office of Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and SheLeads held this Access Live event to discuss startups and funding options. The event featured Donna Lowry, Georgia Public Broadcasting; Dar’shun Kendrick, JD/MBA, Managing Member of Kendrick Advisory & Advocacy Group; Jane McCracken, Assistant Director, Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC); and Marguerite Pressley Davis, Founder & CEO, Finance Savvy CEO, and creator of Your Profit Playbook. The hosts discussed creating financially savvy CEOs, angel investors, and provided tips on raising capital for startups. Participants asked questions regarding the difference between angel investors and venture capitalists, things to consider when raising equity capital, and ways to gather funding without employees or a storefront.
